AR+D Expands Critical Health Equity Partnership with CDPH
AR+D is proud to announce the expansion of our partnership with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on health equity and chronic disease prevention initiatives.
This expanded engagement builds on our multi-year collaboration through the Prevention Forward platform and deepens our work on the community-level interventions that CDPH's Chronic Disease Control Branch has prioritized.
What's new
The expanded scope includes additional program evaluation work, new multilingual content development, and expanded community engagement infrastructure to support CDPH's prevention priorities in underserved communities across California.
We're also deepening our integration with federally-funded prevention programs, including expanded work aligned with CDC's chronic disease prevention framework.
Why this partnership matters
California's health equity challenges are significant and complex. The state's extraordinary diversity — in language, culture, socioeconomic status, and geographic distribution — makes one-size-fits-all prevention approaches fundamentally inadequate.
CDPH's commitment to addressing these disparities through sustained, community-grounded programming aligns with everything we believe about how public health work should be done. This partnership allows us to bring our research capabilities, cultural competency, and technical expertise to some of the most important prevention challenges in the state.
Our approach
Our work with CDPH is grounded in community voice and quantitative evidence. We don't develop programs in isolation — we work alongside the communities we're serving and the healthcare professionals who deliver care to ensure that our strategies reflect real needs and real constraints.
We're grateful for CDPH's continued partnership and look forward to the impact this work will create.
